"We don't know what we don't know... Discover your unique leadership truths."
I am an Executive Leadership Coach and Career Strategist with over a decade of experience helping individuals step into their greatness and discover the leader within; and author of Careering: The Pocket Guide to Exploring Your Future Career (Morgan James Publishing, New York, NY, 2017).
As an executive and leadership coach, I work with both organizations and individuals from a range of industries to nurture and create leaders. My goal is to help individuals lean into their talents to achieve their goals and make a difference in the world.
I’m here to assist you with self-awareness/empowerment; interpersonal communication; and professional performance improvement. I also provide performance-enhancing guidance to executives, to help them excel and become more efficient.
I live and thrive in the space of supporting individuals to merge personal interests and skills. I developed my signature coaching process from both personal/professional experience and research. Through numerous workshops, readings and insights gained, I have emerged as a catalyst for others on their leadership journeys.
My mission extends to teens, as well. The goal of my book is to provide the youngest, emerging leaders in the U.S. and around the globe with tools to develop themselves as leaders; so that they align their passions with possible career paths and create ways to positively contribute to society while earning a living.
The Careering mini “workbook” also provides teens with a plan of accountability and responsibility, as they figure out their college and career path. To date, the book has been positively received by educators, guidance counselors, parents and students; and has earned several recognitions that include #1 new release in career counseling and #1 in vocational guidance for youth.
I am proof that figuring out the right career path leads to success and happiness. I want to help YOU achieve the same result in your career, no matter where you are. The only requirement is that you should want to make a difference in the world and develop yourself to reach your goals.
If that’s you, you’ve come to the right place. I can’t wait to meet you.
I begin every engagement with a client intake to become familiar with your needs and goals. Contact me to schedule your first session. Should we decide to partner on your coaching engagement, I will request that you take the Birkman assessment before our first session, for which I will send you a link after payment.
I have partnered with and/or mentored a diverse range of clients, from business owners, employees, executives, and corporate teams; to adults, students and young leaders. These clients span a wide array of industries at all organizational levels, including accounting; art and interior design; coaching; education; engineering; finance; human resources; industrial and utility services; non-profit; and IT, to name a few.
In 2017, I decided to focus my passion for coaching, mentoring and empowering youth with the release of the book, Careering: The Pocket Guide to Exploring Your Future Career. My goal is to bring my knowledge, insight and approach to helping youth and young adults excel both academically and in their chosen profession, through awareness of their goals, interests, and talents in a purposeful and focused way.
“If I had to make one statement to summarize my experience working with Tamara, it would be this: Tamara has incomparable skills at synthetizing my essence, business and goals in a way that not only produced what I envisioned but explored possibilities I never considered or had explored. And that’s why she’s been my business coach for almost nine years.
I own an artistic business where we engage in several creative areas—interior decorating, original art, writing books of art and poetry, and miscellaneous projects such as animating characters we’ve created. This is not a formulated business. Yet, Tamara has been able to effectively deal with the abstractions of this business and help us see areas we were overlooking, to create a seamless vision and clearly defined objectives.
And just to give my comments added weight: my background includes 17 years of human resources management at a Fortune 500 company. So, I’m used to assessing talent, and Tamara and her services are a keeper!”
"I’m a practicing personal coach. A few years back, I had been hit by a windfall of life events that negatively impacted my life is a resounding way. Though I’ve been looked to as a leader and trailblazer in my own right, I just felt I lost confidence — and my mojo. I met Tamara in a certification training course much earlier. I trusted her prowess in leadership development and individualized one-on-one coaching.
In just a few sessions, she was able to guide me into understanding what within in me truly spoke to being a leader, first and foremost in my own life — without my realizing how deeply impactful the work was! I appreciate Tamara’s matter-of-fact, subtle approach and philosophy most of all.
Her belief that we all have the potential to step into the leader within us, it just looks different in different people really resonated with me. It also helped me to see myself and my assets differently. What’s more, I feel well-equipped with ‘tools’ I can turn to and use if and when needed to get me back to that empowered place of leadership. Thank you so much, Tamara, for helping me find my power and giving it back to me!!"
“I have worked with Tamara on a longtime and recurring basis, as a leadership, executive and Birkman coach for our organization. Tamara’s ability to integrate operational and people knowledge has provided us with the flexibility to reposition employees in jobs that are better suited for their existing skill set and personality.
In addition, Tamara’s leadership development coaching has allowed managers to gain a deep understanding of more effective methods for leading staff in the context of the challenges that a young and growing company faces. I’ve found her to be intelligent, honest and innovative. Most importantly for me is Tamara’s inner-drive and commitment to seeing her clients succeed in the most genuine and positive of ways!”
“I’ve had the pleasure of working with Tamara for many years now. I continue to rely on her coaching and people-development expertise for both individuals and executives in our organization. She is adept at resolving and aligning human resources tactics as well as program goals with enterprise objectives. She is an excellent communicator and innovative problem solver with aptitude to influence and affect change. Tamara is responsible for establishing our excellent and solid organizational management framework, which encompassed form creation, hiring and training protocol development, as well as executive coaching. She was great to work with!”
"I really want to thank the author for this compact book. This book gives clear guidance on how to link your interest to programs/events that will get you exposure as well as develop your skills. She explains internships which are not just for young people but people of all ages, stage or career. The critical skill of networking and job application is thoroughly broken down. This book is well researched and full of valuable information no matter what stage of the career process you are at."
"This book is a "must-have" for anyone ready to enter the workforce. From start to finish, Tamara Raymond provides the ultimate guide for successful career planning. The target audience is the high school student, but the contents are appropriate for anyone. The small size can be misleading, but the book includes a wealth or appropriate information, including tips, work sheets, journal entries, and resources. Ms. Raymond's writing style is easy to read and speaks directly to the reader. This is a valuable resource that should be in the home, career centers, classrooms, and libraries."
